The brains of children and teenagers are less mature, so they are more influenced by the advice of others due to lack of experience, and take feedback much more personally; for instance, an insult towards a child is seen as many times worse than an insult to a workplace adult. (even if a hoke) Additionally, their brain networks are not properly formed yet, so critical thinking is very rare for the average child or teenager (though it certainly can be done!). Alternatively, adults might withdraw information from them, which, through learned helplessness, could harm their desire to know the world better.
