Digital detox may be useless. Unless you actually delete social media, you'll just get back again. But if it helps you in this moment, it's probably better than getting addicted yet again today.
The problem with videos that tell you to stop using tech is that they make it SOUND LIKE the natural world would be better - which may not be at all in absolute terms, or even comparatively - or that it assumes people only spend their time on social media, ignoring the tons of other useful technologies like SuperMemo, or stuff needed for work or school, or even apps that let you take notes, or draw, or a basic search engine.
In this era, few can even live without a phone, with the assumption that, of course, people bring their phones everywhere.
