Concept where there are so many university graduates that not being one is a total shame in life, and that being one might still not be enough for a job. The big problem is the reliance on a job for money, which basically makes it a need, not a want, so places fill up which can cause more problems in the long-run due to lack of intrinstic interest and stuff - damages to society as a whole.

What happens if (the rest of) society and technology as a whole advances rapidly, yet the number of job places remains the same? What if we had so many bachelors, associates, masters that they no longer mean much on their own out of the sheer name of "equality"? Then people would likely have to work even harder as the generations pass just to secure minimum wage jobs.

The difference here is that the costs in terms of money, esteem, time are higher than in the past yet the end goal - just to have money to eat - has not changed thoughout human history- which I perceive will be the future fatal point of humanity - which might just make us end up back at early tribal days where there isn't enough to afford fancy stuff in the first place - an era of disease (healthcare too expensive), apathy (therapy too expensive) - hunter-gatherers - but without any animals to hunt or crops to gather (land rent too expensive, and anti-wild-animal-killing laws are everywhere now).
