Affective empathy, the feeling of “justice” where everyone gets to live a life with equal “potential” and “happiness”. And the humans indeed fear that they themselves might somehow live in their shoes, even though they aren’t. Again, it’s a leftover from the tribal days of humans, where living together indeed increased survival chances.
