School
analogies:
Prison:
It's a prison, but it's advertised as a place where words are not a
prison. To trick the people who forgot what it was.
And FUTURE, CREDIT, DISCIPLINE, GRADES are measured by how well students
can obey arbitrary rules by teachers or the mark scheme. Ranking is
based on doing something one absolutely hates to be in - after 10horus
of lost freedom of a precious human life, the difference is where
studying or homework (which comes BEFORE studying) is
done. Measuring a human by how much self-inflicted torture (in addition
to the school-forced one) is the most gigantic pain of gaslighting of
school, which devalues ALL ELSE NOT RELATED TO IT in comparison.
YouTube:
Yeah, it might cause short attention spans, but that is rather because
school is archaic and outdated for so long. Social media esp. YT has lots
of personally important and valuable knowledge (otherwise why would u
click on it?). The difference is that it will not sleep-deprive you; you are free to
leave, it costs (almost) nothing, you don't have to deal with noisy
students, no forced homework, will not punish for slowness, can speed up
beyond school-teacher-pace voices, no need to stand at always, can
change volume, can rewind, video input. School: Any questions or
hands-on requested experience not in the syllabus is axed. Distractingly
good is often a sign of interest. This is an assumption that school no
longer exists :) And the counterargument that it kills motivation to do
schoolwork DIES. AI: "Distraction" can only exist if there is a
forced obligation you are supposed to be doing instead. Me:
Before social media, I bet many students also hated futile repetitions
of learning for grades too. This is not a new problem. Also, the
15-second ad is far, far better than a 10-hour pseudo-murder of energy,
sleep, and joy of life itself.
Microsoft:
Microsoft makes setting up Windows hard. For the workplace/school?
Really, really long interview, plus exams that span a few YEARS!!! Plus
the cost is FAR higher than any PC on the planet. And Microsoft collects
data? Well, some schools and workplaces collect their entire
students'/workers' browsing history, or keyloggers,r or even screen
recordings, and the data of tests, and reveal it in a report card! And
tell their parents. Plus, you cannot escape your classmates. They know
your embarrassments. Yet there are TONS of complaints about Microsoft.
As such, logically,y school is so, so many times worse!! Adults breaking
down over data collection and slight UI errors; students get 6 hours of
"NO PC" every day. Naturally, with much more effective tech, schools
have to ban it. Because they clearly still want a prison from the 1900s
where the syllabus rules! At the very least, ast even with Rogue Micro,
soft you can choose to, or not to use a computer. Students get
banned from doing such things often. Even a cookie ban needs an ads law
to reduce 1 click; what the hell. Also, if you HAD the choice,e you
would naturally choose the most efficient choice. Students have no
choice, even if great at homework or view it as a waste of time b.c.
eithewaythey are too bad or too good still have to. Perhaps if you hate
bad software, you have a poor attention span too.
