Strategic ignorance

Ignorance can be blissful yet risky. The news can be one example; ridiculous politicians abusing their power, if known, can trigger anger, yet it is quite unnecessary to know stuff about others in daily life (Doomscrolling social media without any reason).
Or it can be a philosophical/psychological phenomenon that causes controversy in general. I prefer knowing them over not knowing them. For some things, ignorance is bliss; we do not have perfectly stoic minds, even if knowledge is power. Rather than risk a negative emotional response, it may be better to avoid it strategically, intentionally, and shamelessly, in the first place. It all depends on your valuation of what harms you!
