Feeling what others feel.
But biologically, I don’t actually want to feel anything that can affect
my judgement when doing critical thinking. (Spinoza again: slaves
to external causes)
Neither do I want to feel like the homeless.
It just causes more pain, and it doesn’t actually solve, or head
towards, solving issues. (Except in the rare case where someone else
notices the pain and spreads the word fast, but it’s actually
rare.)
It’s a negative stimulus that I didn't create and cannot immediately
fix. I wish to be stoic.
Cognitive empathy is better because I can actually think of ways to
solve their problem, or accept the problem for what is, without being
overwhelmed by emotions. I feel what I feel myself, not what others
feel.
It’s not that strong in me.
But it depends on the definition of what even is a “feeling”. I still
think my biology demands a bit of it.
Because I can feel anti-logic and tough times and authenticity.
It’s the altruism problem: duplicating pain, which is bad
according to utilitarianism.
Without a resource or viable strategy to solve problems, it’s pointless
redundancy.
