Atheist

The belief that God does not exist.

Some may see theism as a slightly altered absurdism, meaning making a crazy meaning to rebel against the meaninglessness of life otherwise.

Burden of proof argument

The fact is that scientifically, it usually lies within the person claiming something exists/happened rather than the one who tries to say it doesn't.

Otherwise, you could theoretically just say pink flying elephants exist, and that there is no disproof.

Since there is no empirical evidence for a god, the default position should be non-belief, just like many myths or childhood hoaxes like the “tooth fairy” (can’t prove something that is not seen as science relies on observations.

Ego Argument

They can’t explain certain things about humanity, especially in the past, where scientific knowledge barely existed, so they use the belief of a higher power that controls everything as a coping mechanism to the current situation that they cannot describe with their current philosophy and psychological abilities.

Someone once told me said that God would help my suffering out, but I was totally an atheist so I found that rude and disrespectful and dishonest and not supported by any good evidence, and even after months I believed the reason I got better was due to the hedonic treadmill and the power of the self, not due to any higher power that is theorized to exist. Admitting that life is a series of biological and physical events with no protection is psychologically scary for most people.

J.L. Schellenberg’s argument, but I thought of it too!

If God is perfect and has the power to end big problems as he cares, thus he wants non-suffering!
God has not revealed himself, so worries about God’s existence is technically a “problem”, in fact it’s a large scale-one that has doubted humanity for many years, yet he himself has not solved it, contradicting the very nature he claims to be. Thus, I doubt he even exists. One common counterargument is that he wants people to have free will, but I think that consuming lots of human energy and doubt is not worth it, and if God actually exists, then it is a fact, not an opinion, can you believe “1+1=3” just because you want to? Wrong, lack of knowledge of facts leads to more problems, so it shows how imperfect he is for God to refuse give the fact that he exists to humanity.
