A debate with a winner and loser. Basically, you argue a side with your team, intending to impress the judge more than the other team will. A logical exercise.
I once heard it is one of the most intense academic exercises ever. But I joined the school debate team in Secondary 4 out of my sheer free will, so it isn't education system-enforced anymore. So my motivation increases. Yay!
For timings, just do lots of practice, and erase the less important
parts (Prioritize!)

analysis: You can counterargue forever, but eventually you need a
weighing to show that your counterarguments are better than the
opposition
Volume: Probably louder, but don't shout like a madman!
