This is the antithesis of good. Darkness, Satanism (but not really, only the theistic version?). Again it is subjective. So, it is also one of the reason for Atheism. Alternatively, if there is a Good God, to explain the presence of evil, a Dark God is likely to also exist. A perfect god would have stopped natural disasters and have surpassed human evil like murder too!
Some people who desire and act to do evil for no reason apart from their own satisfaction and self-interest, and (worst case) nothing people say or do will change their desire for pure evil, as they rejoice in doing evil, ruining others’ lives, and do not care one bit about the consequences for doing evil is their purpose of living. Quite dangerous people. Though luckily, most people aren’t this and at least have a force so strong I cannot explain, that prevents them from doing bad things like stealing and murdering…
Here is one pessimistic truth: Evil will rule over Good in terms of impact, like no matter how many good people there are, they cannot protect if a nuclear bomb is unleashed. Yes, it takes little to destroy but much to make.
This is from a theoretical standpoint. At least societal norms help a bit here. However, inevitably, some people will violate it. Violation in itself is not bad as it is how revolutions happen, but destruction is bad.
Though this contains the word "evil", this stoic practice should help: Premeditation of Evil
