Society operates on Humanism, the belief that human life has intrinsic, infinite value. Thus laws against murdering humans were born, which is indeed a positive. But in fact, value is basically an evaluation done by an observer, so there is little “factual” evidence that human beings are above all else, and it seems like just a societal concept to justify the superiority of their own species, so it’s a bit questionable.
It’s a tool used by the species to create a concept to ensure mutual survival. Otherwise, wouldn't there be more deaths? Its whole point is to protect life and its value, because the truism is that humans have to value life from a Darwinistic standpoint!
