A bit of victim-blaming, or thinking a non-factor was the cause.

Methods

1. Either u make it essential and hated and actually have psychologically negative effects while forcing u to deal with it (school), while intentionally dissonancing you into thinking it's good through the bandwagon fallacy; so normal that you cannot admit it's bad.
2. Or make it almost essential or naturally pleasurable and claim it has negative side effects (tech), and then frame natural hedonism as WRONG. In a way, I predict the next generation 50 years from now will see phones like electricity.

Example

Schools rarely get blamed even though they are worse than other forms of learning like videogames.

They blame the better forms - games.

As an analogy, let's say there is a prison. The person would want to stay away from prison as much as possible. Of course, freedom(free learning) is better than prison(school). So, why are you blaming the better thing for the "crime" of making the worse thing look even worse in comparison? Let's say we give a child poop to eat. Then we give him chocolate. What is the problem: poop or chocolate? Of course it's poop, right? Yes. Chocolate is "better", so why blame the "better" thing just for making the worse thing no longer attractive?
