Where you take advantage of your Darwin-evolved brain's features to be able to remember images better than words, for instance, you can also use the picutre and the word together, like Dual Coding.
One example of Visual Memory is memorizing Pokémon names, even though I, and maybe you, didn't even need to intentionally learn them. My brain thought it was a waste of time, unconsciously did that, and hated how hard it was to memorize what is in the education system... for the examination system.
Sadly, most knowledge, especially that of Physics, is abstract. In the past, people needed to memorize bears, fruits, etc. However, now we need to memorize abstract knowledge. Dual coding is not highly possible for most stuff (at least real-world images), and even if it is, it may use up lots of time.
It's even harder if it is... hard... to draw up links. Eg, I used to learn Psychology-Philosophy-Sociology stuff by Thinking and Application. But there is no equivalent to simply using that to deduce hard rules for Math and physics. (at least the memorization stage.) Of course.
