Zero-stakes activities

Even though they are said to be useless to daily life, people still do them (like playing video games, listening to music, and reading). It can bring about immediate pleasure. This sounds like neglecting long-term things, but pleasure in itself is not bad; Darwinism decided to evade stress. If turned into something to fill free time, overall life satisfaction can increase!
It is to break from the high-stakes things, as high stakes mean high energy. People only have limited mental energy before burnout and reduced cognitive thinking and doing skills.
Rather, schools made the excuse that exams and homework were high-stakes, and others perceived as a "distraction" were not. This led precisely to the self-hatred trap, where the overjustification effect occurs, and the human brain does not want to do things judged so heavily by others because there is a great fear.
