An emotion of being scared or anxious of something, not wanting something to happen, or such.
fear of death for sure. And by association, danger. fear of the unknown (the future, or other people’s actions). fear of lack of control (destroys freedom and self-sovereignty). fear of specific things the person hates (phobias, which is a sign that humans cannot perfectly adapt). fear of not succeeding, for instance in examinations, so people study (negative motivation).
More agony, more examination past papers, more happiness (for the hedonic treadmill bites me), more hours spent suffering more pain brought to my soul. Education system, is the main source of fear due to power imbalance (again!)
Fear is used as a means of control, especially by government to citizens or parents to children (with fear of punishment). Honestly, it’s one of the few ways to change human behavior, though it can be abused, so it’s not entirely good. It’s mainly fear of non-conformity, which is just individual freedom, and without freedom I don’t know how life would be…
Where the biggest fear of people involves observing other people also having fear. Because otherwise it would be hard for them to know whether a new activity is scary or not. It's like social proof, sociological yet causal. It is contagious, yet without knowing the only knowledge of fear is from others so I of course fear when others' fear judgement is wrong.
