Past argument

Personally, I think it’s just confirmation bias of praying to things that would happen anyway (like sickness recovery) (look, I pray to fly 100 times, still didn’t get it), because both theists and atheists end up as good as each other on average, so praying to god (if one exists) isn’t shown to have a big boost to life. In fact, whether God exists or not, and whether we can prove that, if at all, research shows that praying isn’t shown to have a big upside or downside on average, so it is probably best to use things that are shown to work, like boosting individual power (Satanism).

And then, as prayer doesn’t actually seem to boost much, it either is a form of meditation that lowers stress which is a psychological placebo, or it can show that God doesn’t exist, or there is a God yet he gives his power to people even to those who don’t pray as he is all-loving (even to those which don’t believe in him) making prayer logically superfluous.

Doesn't mean much, really

It doesn’t mean much in the grand scheme of life. In fact, I think as there is no agreeable fact here, there basically is no point risking upsetting anyone due to making it seem like I am having their identity being affected in terms of validity, and most people don’t actually know metaphysics that well, even me initially! So, while prayer may not be logical, it is also not harmful, so it is neutral: there is no loss! People take meaninglessness too pessimistically, however in reality life is full of these low-stakes moments, so it's fine!

My stance now

It may be psychologically comforting, even if logically distressing to me that people believe in that sort of stuff! It's a placebo. However, just like with Absurdism, sometimes there isn't anything wrong with believing in something, if pragmatically, it makes you less stressed! So, do as you will!
