Not caring much. Barely. State of being (mentally)
disconnected.
It's related to asceticism and buddhism, and also stoicism (for
things you cannot control).
Detachment
is a state in which a person overcomes their emotional attachment to or
desire for things, people, or worldly concerns and thus attains a
heightened perspective.
Detach from the need to "stay informed"! If you cannot help the world,
it only leads to learned helplessness
Detach from "doomscrolling" at the cost of other tasks! If
you do so instead of a higher priority, it makes you miserable at the
end of it
Detach from socializing (some forms)? Because it can be higher
entropy?
If you are, perhaps, in the examination system, detachment-
not caring about the rest of the world MAY allow you to focus only on
the task, which makes it more pragmatic! This is the value. It takes training.
Deep breathing could help. However, the payoffs are immense if you use
it mainly in situations that are likely to cause stress.
Strictly speaking, if one is a biological entity, total detachment is a paradox. A collection of chemical reactions designed to make you "care" about, e., Breathing cannot ignore itself. If you exist within school, some school stuff like homework will still impact you (and your time/energy). Such impossible standards are naturally impossible. However, detachment is likely still a spectrum, and if you can already relieve yourself from a few negative emotions, it is fine already.
Even though, as said before, you of course cannot detach fully, you might actually somehow have better performance when somewhat detached. When you detach from caring about the outcome itself, for some things like exams (which usually bring about more stress than optimum if you REALLY "care" about them beyond the fact it's a way to university), you might actually do better due to less resistance from your brain, which may have slightly less interference on sleep, daily life, and such.
Total detachment from those you hate!!! Like, they are
merely a pest of symptoms, MS, and you can treat them like a disease -
you can merely ignore what they say. (Exception: You can't really avoid
the impact of Teachers, but you can do the minimum effort necessary to
keep them from harming you any further)
It consumes too much energy.
One can also detach from socialization and end up against their biological nature. And then you might feel weird. The other is that it's just so biolgocially hard, and may end up in anhedonia!
I CANNOT EXPECT MOST PEOPLE TO CARE ABOUT ME THOUGH… LIKE ME… LET ME
DO WHAT I WANT… Pointless to wish they were different. Because every
human is unique in circumstances. “That’s who they just are; it is
impossible to change their true nature.” Stoicism again?
Lowering the expectations of others… Even if they insult me,
ideally, I would have seen that coming.
Even if there is in fact dislike, deal with it, see it from a third person
like the Grey
Rock, not let it disturb peace.
But still, disliking is an emotion. On a broader scale, any plan that is about
emotions, like doing flashcards only when I feel good, would fluctuate
and be inconsistent…
And people… either it is determinism, or it is free will, or both. Either they
are a jerk on purpose, or are in fact really burnt out, or just affected
by the crowds he was born in and ended up falling into a limbo, living a
life where they simply are who they are, and why on earth would I expect
them to be any different? Possessing sympathy towards the situation (not
the action or the
cause)...
"When you wake up in the morning, tell yourself: The people I deal with
today will be meddling, ungrateful, arrogant, dishonest, jealous, and
surly... I can neither be harmed by any of them, for no man will involve
me in wrong, nor can I be angry with my kinsman or hate him."
The way to survive school was just as I theorized a year ago: Full total
detachment!
No emotions towards a system designed to rig and drain me until the end
of it. The problem why it took so long to implement could be cause school implicitly said
this was bad by framing emotional caring as good. But school makes me feel bad if I
actually care about it!
Also could be due to emotional immaturity when I was younger. I got
angry easily, and seeing that others did not get angry that easily, made
me have great esteem issues, making me even angrier
Now I think
Game theory helps in school, though
People barely even remember me
Gyah, the past was that, but I remember almost nothing
But I know that I must do
I must annihilate the education system so badly that I can get a
good uni, good job, etc, while maintaining sleep and learn drive because loss of
these would lead to backfiring, lowering grades of the exam system
m
There are so many disturbances, one of which already exists due to the
nature of lessons, loss of freedom.
GYah! I do my learning at home then.
I need to be careful and play a knowing role in teachers' Machiavellian
tactics, one of which is to explicitly state to sound nice but enforce
rules strictly. Total sstoicism asceticism, no emotions! Arthur Schopenhauer's pessimism also
works for validating the nature of life in school. Of course, perhaps Albert
Camus's explanation of why I live can be slightly interesting.
And with a grain of pragmatism
What actually works
Minimal communication minimal risk
Schools are enslaving prisons, but the distinction
is that
Even crimeless people need to go through it>
....
Gyah! Nature of reality
Unfair for fair is forgotten and outpowered by evil
Uguuh!
Reducing the emotional labor on yourself in conversations. Caring less can actually increase logicalness and objectiveness, and allow the other person to trust that they can bring bad news to you without you panicking.
